The Broadcasting Authority of Zimbabwe (BAZ) has warned media houses against broadcasting adverts for traditional healers, prophets and unverified traditional medicine.
A similar ban was issued in 2018. Therefore, this is a renewed effort.
Engineer Tendai Kapumha, Chief Executive Officer told media house that those adverts will mislead the members of the public.
“This letter serves to remind you of the Authority’s directive to all broadcasters to stop the broadcasting of advertising content from churches and traditional healers and of traditional herbs and medicines which cannot be authenticated, since they tend to mislead the public,” CEO’s statement read in part.
