World’s oldest tree is found in Chile. The oldest tree is possibly in Chile. The tree was discovered by a team of researchers. 

 

It is over 5,000 years old according to the experts. It is located in Alerce Costero National Park  and they nicknamed it “great grandfather”. 

 

The diameter of the world’s oldest tree spans 4 meters. Jonathan Barichivich, the scientist who led the study, revealed that the tree is up to 5,484 years old.

 

According to the Guinness World Records, currently the world’s oldest tree is 4,853 years. It is a bristlecone pine tree nicknamed Methusalah found in White Mountains of California. The tree was discovered in 1957 by Edmund Schulman.
