Kongo Gumi was established in 578 CE when Prince Shotoku invited 3 carpenters from one of the three kingdoms of Korea to Japan to construct a Buddhist temple. 

 

Kongo Gumi has been in existence for 40 generations. 

 

In 2006, the company was acquired by the Takamatsa Construction Group. 

 

 

Kongo Gumi specializes in construction of Buddisht temples.
