The veteran journalist and proud winner of 3 Emmys has died at age 71.
Roberts worked as a journalist on TV, radio as well as a publisher for over four decades. She started out at ABC as an active contributor for “This Week with David Brinkley” and rose the ranks to become the chief analyst of congress for ABC.
Roberts is now survived by her children Rebecca Roberts and Lee Roberts as well as her husband Steve Roberts. She had grandchildren: Hartman, Regan, Cecilia, Hale, Roland Hartman and Jack.
Roberts first started working at KNBC-TV and WNEW from the 1960s. Later on she joined CBS in the earlier 70s and the in 1978 she joined the NPR where she covered news and events about Capital Hill. She was also active in the coverage of the Panama Canal Treaty.
