Elon Musk is constructing a starship using stainless steel. This is the first time ever it is happening.
Elon Musk sent a message on X indicating that one of his rockets will be built of steel instead of carbon fiber.
This is the first time steel is going to be used in the construction of rockets. There were attempts in the 1950s to do so under the Atlas program but it failed.
