Countries like Morocco have reintroduced restrictions after resurgence of Covid-19 cases.
The African governments have also been asked to strengthen their testing and contact tracing.
WHO regional director Dr Matshidiso Moeti says that countries in the African region should remember that ‘’no one is safe until we are all safe’’.
About 800,000 coronavirus cases have been confirmed in the African continent.
South Africa is the hardest hit country in the continent. More than 482,000 cases have been confirmed.

Dr Moeti also confirmed that five countries accounted for 75% of the total confirmed cases in the continent.
According to Africa CDC, About three out of four of the reported cases and deaths in the African continent were reported in South Africa, Egypt, Nigeria, Algeria and Sudan.
