Sharing is Caring

The Manchester United striker Marcus Rashford pledges that stars who missed the Euro 2020 final penalties are being abused because they are not whites.

The England national team lost the finals to Italy who were crowned champions after a 1-1 draw which led to penalty shootout.

The penalty takers who missed included his fellow Black team-mates Jadon Sancho and Bukayo Saka.

Marcus Rashford also added that if it were the white players who missed the penalties, they would not receive the same treatment.

‘Honestly no, that’s just the way I feel,’ he said. ‘I don’t think it would have been the same. But at the same time, I don’t think people would have noticed. he replied

‘I feel they just reacted to how they felt, whether it was because it was three black guys or three white guys.’

The Arsenal superstar Bukayo Saka who was the determinant on the shoot outs missed which ensured that Italy lifted the trophy.

Bukayo Saka got discriminating comments on his social media which included ‘get out of my country’.  A fanatic was also arrested for racially abusing Marcus Rashford.

But despite the lost victory in the Euro 2020 in Italy, the England national team played an impressive football and the youngsters did everything to ensure that they get their hands on the trophy but it was not their day.

‘Since I’ve come into the team it’s been a transition period for the club, so finding stability has been difficult – that’s why we have so many ups and downs. But it’s a club that’s got a rich history so we’re just steadily trying to get that feeling back, but it’s not going to happen overnight.’ Marcus Rashford added.
