Watford FC have parted ways with manager Javi Gracia after a poor start of the 2019/2020 Premier League season.
Watford FC have managed only one point after four matches this season and are currently at the bottom of the Premier League table.
Watford haven’t won a single game this season under Javi Gracia. The Hornets have already lost to Brighton and Hove Albion, Everton and West Ham. They managed a draw against Newcastle. This comes after the club splashed cash on new players including record signing Ismaila Sarr.
Watford FC decided to sack the Spanish manager during the international break and immediately replaced him with Spanish tactician Quique Sanchez Flores who was in charge of the Hornets in the 2015/2016 season.
Javia Gracia was appointed manager of Watford in January 2018 after Marco Silva was sacked. Javi Gracia led Watford to the FA Cup final last season at Wembley in May for the first time in 35 years but lost to Manchester City. It was also the second time in the club’s history that Watford have reached an FA cup final.
The 49 year old led Watford to finish at 11th place in the Premier League Table last season- their best ever finish in the Premier League.
Watford FC Chairman Scott Duxbury said: “Javi has represented Watford with great dignity and will always be deserving of our fullest respect for his achievements.”
A club statement added: “Everyone at the Hornets wishes Javi and his staff all the very best for the future, and they will always be welcome visitors in the future at Vicarage Road.”
Gracia was less than a year into a four-and-a-half year contract at Vicarage Road. Watford also had the option to extend the deal by a further three years.
