Vincent Kompany has retired from playing football at the age of 34 and will be Anderlecht’s full-time manager.
Kompany, who won the 4 Premier League titles with Manchester City joined Anderlecht on a player-coach role in May 2019.
The former Belgian international has signed a four-year deal with Anderlecht.
Kompany left Manchester City at the end of 2018-19 season after making 360 appearances for the Premier League club.
He also made 89 appearances for Belgium.
Kompany told the Anderlecht’s official website: “I want to fully commit to my role as a coach and need 100 per cent of my time and focus for it.
“That’s why I’m quitting as a football player. Our ambition and our hunger remains the same.
“I want to stay with the club for at least four seasons and prove that Anderlecht can play a modern style of football, with results. I want to thank Franky (co-manager Frank Vercauteren) for all his help.”
