The United States of America has been selected to host 1st edition of FIFA Club World Cub in 2025. FIFA made this known in a public announcement. This will be part of the expanded 32-team format which is a great change from the current 7 team structure.
“The FIFA Club World Cup 2025 will be the pinnacle of elite professional men’s club football, and with the required infrastructure in place together with a massive local interest, the United States is the ideal host to kick off this new, global tournament,” FIFA president Gianni Infantino stated on Friday.
Chelsea, Real Madrid and Manchester City already earned places in the expanded tournament lineup that is planned to test operations and stadiums one year before the 2026 World Cup.
The United States of America is poised to host the men’s World Cup with Mexico and Canada. FIFA has not yet given games to those countries. The Club World Cup is scheduled to happen from June to July 2025.
USA was chosen as the host during the FIFA Council online meeting which happened on Friday.
