Lafayette City Court Judge, Michelle Odinet, has been suspended from her work without pay after being captured on video using a racist slur while at home.
People across America called for her resignation and hence Supreme Court of Louisiana took the necessary action.
The female judge faced numerous calls to resign this week, including from Gov. John Bel Edwards.
The film shows a TV set showing security footage of a foiled burglary at the judge’s home. Racist slurs and laughter are heard coming from the viewers who cannot be seen on camera, as they watch two individuals capture the suspect.
A male voice was heard saying, “And Mom’s yelling n****r, n****r,” followed by a female voice, alleged to be Judge Odinet, laughing and saying, “We have a n****r. It’s a n****r, like a roach.”
