“UK Special Forces always run towards the sound of gunfire,” said a reliable source
A Special Air Service (SAS) trooper of the British Army has been identified by the Sun Newspaper of the UK as the one who killed the Al Shabaab terrorists.
The SAS soldier was in Kenya to train and mentor Kenyan Special Forces and was requested to join the rescue mission when 6 terrorists attacked the Dusit D2 hotel.
On getting to the main entrance, one of the terrorists detonated his suicide vest and the remaining three terrorists started attacking people using grenades and gun fire.
According to Kenya Inspector General (IG) of police, 21 people were killed including a British national Luke Potter.
Al Shabaab terrorist group took credit of the attacks in Nairobi hotel in situated at the Riverside Drive.
The SAS soldier was dressed in jeans, body armor and trainers when he entered the hotel from where he helped the injured people. All this while his face was covered by a balaclava.
At the beginning the SAS solder was operating as a lone ranger but later was joined by US Navy Seals.
Reliable sources revealed that “UK Special Forces always run towards the sound of gunfire. He was there training and mentoring Kenyan forces when the shout went up, so they went in.”
The SAS have a reputation for not missing their targets. When they fire, they hit. The solder is reported to be a veteran having served the British Special Forces for many years.
A total of 700 people have been rescued from the Riverside Drive Complex. The compound houses numerous offices and restaurants.
