Uganda has confirmed its second coronavirus deaths connected with coronavirus as the country continues to ease restrictions.

The health authorities said the 80-year-old woman was from an informal settlement in the country’s capital, Kampala.

She died on Friday after exhibiting symptoms of Covid-19.

A postmortem conducted by the Makerere University and the Uganda Virus Research Institute confirmed that she died of coronavirus.

The health authorities are now tracing those who might have come into contact with her.

Uganda confirmed its first coronavirus fatality last week, a 34-year-old woman who was working in a hospital in Namasindwa district.

A total of 1,115 coronavirus cases have been confirmed in the East African country.
