UEFA to name its Men’s player of the year
UEFA will name its Men’s player of the year today with Liverpool defender Virgil van Dijk up against Juventus forward Cristiano Ronaldo and Barcelona’s Lionel Messi. Virgil van Dijk helped Liverpool to win the Champions League last season. Lionel Messi helped Barcelona to win the Laliga last season and Cristiano won the Serie A with Juventus.
The current holder of the award is Luca Modric. He was given the award after helping Real Madrid to win the UEFA Champions League and also helping his Croatia national team reach the 2018 FIFA World cup final.
