UEFA has given European football Leagues a May 25th deadline to inform the governing body of their plans to restart their domestic competitions.
The soccer governing body in Europe has made it clear that it wants its member associations to complete their domestic campaigns rather than voiding them.
Football was brought to a halt in Europe due to the spread of Coronavirus disease.
UEFA president Aleksander Ceferin wrote a letter to all its 55 federations that any league cancelling its campaign would have to submit a list of teams that have qualified to take part in UEFA Champions League and UEFA Europa League, also by May 25th.

‘’In the event that a domestic competition is to be prematurely terminated for legitimate reasons, UEFA would require the National Association to explain by 25th May 2020 the special circumstances justifying such premature termination and to select clubs for the UEFA club competitions 2020/2021 on basis of sporting merit in the 2019/2020 domestic competition,’’ he added.
Major sporting activities across the world were brought to a stop due to the spread of Coronavirus, with Euro 2020 delayed until next year and national Leagues and continental club competitions on hold.
The Dutch Eredivisie was cancelled on Friday last week and said there would be no winners and no relegations and promotions.
France Prime Minister Edouard Philippe confirmed that the French Ligue 1 and Ligue 2 campaign was over on Tuesday and all sporting events had been banned until September.
