The UN Secretary General arrived in Moscow after visiting Ankara, Turkey.
While in Moscow he met Russia’s Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and said that he was “extremely interested in finding ways in order to create the conditions for effective dialogue, create the conditions for a ceasefire as soon as possible.”
The Secretary General was scheduled to meet Putin today (Tuesday) and towards the end of the week travel to Kyiv to meet the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
While in Moscow, Guterres called for the creation of humanitarian corridors to get civilians out of the besieged cities like Mariupol and get them basic commodities such as food and medicine.
