Ghana has been chosen as the headquarters for Twitter in Africa. The country was selected because it supports “free speech, online freedom and open internet.”
As a result Twitter Inc is now actively building a team in Ghana (all of them working remotely) for now and may establish an office in the future.
There are job openings in marketing, communication, design, engineering and product.
Ghana was competing with other African countries such as Nigeria, Kenya and South Africa.
With Twitter’s presence in Africa, we now expect to see increased infrastructure investments such as data centers on the African soil.
Twitter has many offices around the world including but not limited to San Francisco, India, Indonesia, Thailand, South Korea, Germany, Mexico, Brazil, France, Spain, Singapore, Belgium, Australia and United Arab Emirates.
