Turkish side Trabzonspor has terminated John Obi Mikel’s contract by mutual agreement.
It is not clear as to why the club decided to part with the former Nigeria International. However, the contract termination comes after the former Chelsea star said he did not feel comfortable playing football amid the coronavirus outbreak in Turkey and across the globe.
More than 40 cases have been confirmed in Turkey.
‘’There is more to life than football. I do not feel comfortable and I do not want to play football in this situation. Everyone should be home with their family and loved ones at this critical time. The season should be cancelled as the world faces such turbulent times,’’ Said Obi Mikel.
