Tigray People’s Liberation Front (TPLF), the ruling party of Tigray Regional State has won 98.2% of votes for the regional parliament which was cast on 9 September, 2020.
The ruling party won 152 out of 190 seats at the Regional council.
The remaining 38 seats were distributed among the four opposition parties.
The five parties which participated in the elections received the following number of votes:
a) TPLF – 2,590,620
b) Baytona – 20,839
c) Tigray Independence Party – 18,479
d) Salsay Weyane Tigray – 3,136
e) Asimba Democratic Party – 774
