Arsenal midfielder Lucas Torreira would like to return to Italy, says his agent.
The 24-year-old Uruguay International is in his second season at Arsenal having moved from Sampdoria in July 2018.
Torreira made 50 appearances for the Gunners in his first season, including starting the UEFA Europa League final defeat to London rivals Chelsea in Baku.
Torreira appeared to miss the rest of the season after fracturing his ankle in FA cup game against Portsmouth in March, though the hiatus caused by the coronavirus pandemic means he’ll be fit to play once the season resumes.
His agent, Pablo Bentacur has revealed that the player would like to move back to Serie A.
‘’He was a bit angry about some technical issues, but later recovered,’’ Bentaur told TodoMercadoWeb.
‘’The injury came, though it was unfortunately less serious than expected. Today he is fully recovered, I think he will be an important man in the next transfer market.
I will have to talk to Arsenal. The player would like to return to Italy, but it must be admitted that in England they have treated him very well.’’
