Timo Werner stars as RB Leipzig thrash Borussia Monchengladbach
RB Leipzig beat Borussia Monchengladbach 3-1 in a Bundesliga match that was played at Borussia Park yester night.
Leipzig’s Timo Werner opened the scoring at the 38th minute. RB Leipzig went into halftime 1-0 up. Werner added his second goal two minutes after halftime before Breel Embolo scored one for the hosts in the 90th minute. Werner added his third to complete his hat trick in stoppage time wrapping the victory for Leipzig.
The win places RB Leipzig on top of the German Bundesliga table with 9 Points. Leipzig has won all their opening three matches this season. A loss for Monchengladbach places them at 7th place with 4 points.
RB Leipzig will be hoping to continue with their good form this season when they play their fourth match of the season on 14th of September against defending champions Bayern Munich at Red Bull Arena.
Borussia Monchengladbach will play FC Koln in their next match at RheinEnergie Stadion on 14th September.
