The 24-year-old Germany International netted three in the 8-0 win over Mainz in November and repeated the treble in a 5-0 win at Opel Arena this weekend.
The last player to register hat-tricks against the same team in a single season in the Bundesliga was Ulf Kirsten. He scored against Borussia Monchengladbach while playing for Bayer Leverkusen.
Werner has been heavily linked with a move to Liverpool.
Werner has scored a total of 24 goals in the Bundesliga this season – the best single-season return of his career.
