This sheep is the most expensive in the world. It sold for $490,000 in an auction in Scotland this week.
The price went so high due to a bidding war and it was agreed that it will be shared between 3 farms. The bidding started at $10,000.
The sheep is named Double Diamond. Texel Sheep Society states that Texel sheep originated from Holland and they are the favorite for butchers.
The previous record price for a sheep was $307,000 for a sheep nicknamed Deveronvale Perfection back in 2009.
