Apple launched iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 plus on Monday. The two mobile devices run on iOS 18 and are powered by A18 chip which features a 6-core CPU, 5-core GPU.
Both have a dual rear camera setup. iPhone 16 price is $799 equivalent to KES 102,000 while iPhone 16 Plus price starts from $899 equivalent to KES 115,000 for the 12 GB variant. Obviously, by the time the phones reach Kenya they will be more expensive due to shipping and profit margins for the local sellers.
Both phones also have another variant of 512 GB storage. In terms of color options you can pick Black, White, pink, Teal and Ultramarine.
IPhone 16 has an IP68 rating for water and dust resistance. The phone features a 48-megapixel wide angle camera.
In terms of connectivity, iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus include 4G LTE, 5G, GPS, Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth and NFC, as well as a USB Type-C port.
Apple Inc never announces RAM or battery capacities of their smartphones but this will be revealed during detailed tear-downs once they are available.
Pre-orders will commence from 13th September 2024. Proper sales will be from September 20.
