THE ENGLISH PREMIER LEAGUE TO COMMENCE THIS WEEKEND
The 2019/2020 Premier League season is set to kick of this weekend. This is after the curtain raiser of the season was played last weekend at Wembley Stadium between Manchester City and their rivals Liverpool. Manchester City won the match 5-4 on penalties after the game ended in a draw of 1-1 in normal time.
Various Premier League clubs have been busy in the transfer window buying new players and playing pre-season matches in preparation for the new season. The transfer window period is set to shut down on Thursday August 8th 2019.
The 2019/2020 season is the 28th season of the premier League since its establishment in 1992.
It will be the first season whereby the Video Assistant Referee (VAR) will be used. Changes to the rules affecting penalties, back passes, handballs and substitutions have also been introduced.
