Sharing is Caring

This year’s commemoration of Ogiek case African court  happened at Tibwoge in Mariashoni, Nakuru County.

The 26th of May, 2017 remains to be a memorable day for the Ogiek community when the African Court on Human and Peoples’ Rights delivered a landmark ruling on the Ogiek case. The ruling remained an epitome of hope for the Ogiek in securing their territorial rights. Despite the government slow pace in its implementation, the community is hopeful that their land tenure rights will be granted.

The Ogieks are an ethnic minority who have been living in the Mau Forest since time immemorial. They are hunters and gatherers.
