Barcelona goalkeeper Marc-Andre ter Stegen will be out until November following an operation on his knee, the club has announced.
The Germany international underwent a surgery on Tuesday.
The club issued a statement on Tuesday confirming the surgery was a success and the recovery period is two and a half months.
‘’The Intervention was realized successfully and the expected time of recovery will be approximately 2,5 months,’’ The club’s statement read.
31-year-old Brazilian Neto, who joined Barcelona in 2019, has been ter Stegen’s back up goalkeeper. He only played twice in the La Liga in 2019-20 season.
Barcelona recently sacked manager Quique Setien following an 8-2 humiliation in the hands of Bayern Munich in the Champions League.
Netherlands manager Ronald Koeman is expected to be named the next Barcelona head coach.
