Spezia Calcio have been promoted to the Italian top-flight for the first time in their history despite losing 1-0 to Frosinone in the second leg of the Serie B promotion play-off final.
Thursday’s result at the Stadio Alberto Picco made it 1-1 on aggregate, with Spezia Calcio getting promoted to the Serie A due to their superior position in the table at the end of the regular season.
It is Spezia Calcio’s first time in their 114-year history that they’ll compete in the Serie A.
