Deputy Governor of Kisii County, Joash Maangi was arrested at Kisii School while in the company of others waiting to receive Deputy President William Ruto. He was picked by a police vehicle and driven to DCI offices for questioning.
Elsewhere the South Mogirango Member of Parliament, Slyvanus Osoro, was arrested while addressing media and detained at an unidentified police station.
The two were allegedly planning to disrupt the funeral service of the late Simeon Nyachae.
Joash Maangi is the pointman of William Ruto in Kisii region.
