South Africa has announced a record day increase of 572 Covid-19 deaths.
The new deaths were announced on Wednesday bringing the total number of coronavirus fatalities to 5,940.
Almost half of the country’s total number of deaths have been reported in the Western Cape Province.
Gauteng Province is leading in the number of confirmed cases. Western Cape Province comes second.
A total of 394,948 coronavirus cases have been confirmed in South Africa.
229, 175 patients have recovered from the virus.
