Sharing is Caring

South Africa’s communications minister Khumbudzo Ntshavheni has announced that the government will provide 10 GB free internet for all households across the nation.

The free internet data will be similar to the free basic electricity and municipal water services.

Currently, South African households qualify for a free 50 kWh of electricity, 6,000 liters of water and free sewerage and sanitation.

All households whether rich or poor will access the 10 GB free internet.

“Data has become a new utility like water and electricity that our homes needs,” she said.

“At some point, SA households — despite whether you are rich or poor, whether you are employed or unemployed — will have access to 10 GB free internet per month without failure because that’s what this government will deliver.”
