Somalia’s cabinet has approved the resumption of local flights from Sunday, with one passenger flight to and from regional states, the BBC reports.
Aviation minister Mohammed Abdullahi Oomaar told the BBC that airports were reopening with precautionary measures.
The number of travelers will be reduced and there’ll be six domestic flights in a day.
Social distancing, wearing of face masks, use of hand sanitisers are among the measures to be enforced.
All flights in Somalia were suspended three months ago when the country confirmed it’s first coronavirus case.
A total of 2,944 cases of Covid-19 have been confirmed in Somalia with the virus claiming 90 lives.
