Senegal’s president Macky Sall has self-isolated himself after coming into contact with someone who tested positive for Covid-19.
His office confirmed in a televised statement that tests carried out show that the president tested negative but he’ll quarantine himself as a precautionary measure.
Yeya Diallo, a Senegalese lawmaker, confirmed on Wednesday that she had tested positive for the virus.
She called on people to take essential personal measures such as keeping social distance and hygiene.
A total of 6,129 coronavirus cases have been confirmed in Senegal including 93 deaths.
