Sharing is Caring

Borussia Dortmund have released Andre Schurrle from his contract one year ahead of schedule.

The 29-year-old is now a free agent after agreeing to mutually terminate his contract at the German club.

Schurrle, who won the World Cup in 2014 with Germany, joined Dortmund from Wolfsburg in 2016 for €32M, signing a five-year contract.

The former Chelsea star made 33 appearances for Dortmund across two campaigns before being sent out on loan the following seasons at Fulham and Spartak Moscow respectively.

Schurrle said in a statement: ‘’On reflection, it was a period with highs and lows – but also with many valuable experiences both on a sporting and, in particular, on a personal level.

‘’I would like to thank those responsible at BVB and wish the club and its special fans all the best for the future.’’
