Mikhail Mishustin, Russian Prime Minister, has test positive for Coronavirus and will therefore self-isolate.
The PM confirmed his results during a video conference with President Putin.
“It just became known that the coronavirus tests I took came back positive, so I must oblige by the self-isolation rules and it’s mandatory [that I do that] for the safety of my colleagues,” said the PM to the Russia 24 State Channel.
Mikhail Mishustin is now of the highest public figure in Russia to be infected with Covid-19.
As at 30 April, at least 1,073 people had died in Russia as a result of Covid-19.
