AS Roma have suspended sporting director Gianluca Petrachi with immediate effect.
Petrachi started his role less than a year ago after he joined from Torino on a three-year contract.
The 51-year-old appears to be on his way out of the club after reports emerged that he had fallen out with club president Jim Pallotta.
Reports indicate that team manager Morgan De Sanctis will replace Petrachi, whose suspension was announced by the External City giants on Thursday.
The club’s statement read: ‘’AS Roma can confirm that it has today suspended Gianluca Petrachi of his duties as sporting director with immediate effect.
‘’The coach and the team, will be guided directly by club CEO, Guido Fienga.’’
AS Roma sit fifth in the Serie A table. They will restart their Serie A campaign on Wednesday when they play Sampdoria.
