Senator Victor Prengei was a Jubilee Youth Senate nominee and the first Ogiek parliamentarian.
Victor Prengei met his death at Gioto area along Kabarak-Nakuru road.
““It is disheartening and very unfortunate that death has robbed us of an energetic young leader who worked relentlessly for the empowerment of our youth and the safeguarding of the interests of our minority communities across the country,” President Uhuru Kenyatta
“As a special interest legislator, Senator Prengei has been at the forefront in advocating for the welfare of the youth and minority communities especially his Ogiek Community inside and outside Parliament,” the President eulogised.
“I convey my heartfelt condolences and sympathies to Senator Victor Prengei’s family, relatives, friends and colleagues in Parliament, and wish them God’s comfort as they mourn his demise,” the President condoled.
” It is indeed sad to report the dead of our Ogiek leader, the late Hon. Senator Victor Prengei through a tragic road accident, May his soul RIP. Till his death he was a nominated Senator at Kenyan Senate,being the first Ogiek in such a position,” Daniel Kobei

“Nakuru and the country mourns the loss of nominated Senator Victor Prengei following a road accident this evening,” Hon Martha Wangari MP Gilgil Constituency.
According to parliament of Kenya website, Nominated Senator Victor Prengei attended Mariashoni Primary School between 1991 and 1998 and proceeded to Moi Secondary School Amalo.
Upon passing his Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE), Victor pursued Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Maseno University. He graduated in 2008.
Between 2016 and 2018, Victor furthered his education at Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology (JKUAT) by pursuing a Masters in Business Administration (Strategic Management).
Victor Prengei worked at the Independent Electoral Boundaries Commission (IEBC) in 2010 as a Deputy Returning Officer as his first employment.
In 2014 her served as the Chairperson of Nakuru County Land Management Board.
In 2015, Senator Victor Prengei served as a board member of the Betting Control and Licensing Board.
According to parliament website, Senator Victor Prengei had not sponsored any bill by the time of demise.
Mzalendo website states that the late nominated Senator Victor Prengei served as the Vice Chairperson of the Standing Committee on Energy at the Senate. He was also a member of the standing committee on Devolution and Inter-governmental Relations as well as the Committee of Powers and Privileges at the Senate.
