In 1970, Fr. John Bonzamino arrived in Mandera. He is the one who built Mandera Community Church.
The Mandera Community Church which was built by the Catholic Priest was hom to both Catholics and Protestants. It is now used by the Adventists who live in Mandera town.
The Catholics built St. Michael Church in Mandera Town.
