Real Mallorca have been relegated from La Liga after a 2-1 home defeat to Granada on Thursday.
Mallorca have won twice since the league resumed following the coronavirus pandemic and they looked doomed after Thursday’s loss.
Forward Cucho Hernandez gave Mallorca the lead in the 20th minute with a brilliant solo effort, but Granada, who were also promoted last season, levelled on the stroke of half-time through Victor Diaz.
Carlos Fernandez made it 2-1 for Granada in the 69th minute and Mallorca’s hopes vanished in the 80th minute when Aleksandar Sedlar was sent-off for a poor tackle.
Espanyol had confirmed their relegation from the La Liga earlier.
The final relegation spot will be decided on the final day of the season after Leganes beat Bilbao 2-0, leaving them one point behind Celta Vigo.
Celta Vigo will play relegated Espanyol on Sunday, while Leganes take on La Liga champions Real Madrid.
