Raila Odinga petition supreme court 2022 case challenging the presidential election results.

The petition was admitted by the court and Azimio Coalition have officially started showing the world why the elections  should be nullified. A lorry arrived the court’s compound full of petition files.

Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) earlier last week announced William Ruto as the president elect. Ruto won by getting the minimum of 50%+1 of total votes cast. He defeated Raila who scored 48%.

Azimio declined the results and cited that the commission’s servers were hacked and votes stolen from their candidate Raila Odinga in favor of William Ruto. They said they will follow peaceful procedures to ensure they get justice.

Highly skilled security units including Anti-riot units were deployed at the court compound to ensure that the petition filling process does not get disrupted. Azimio supporters could be heard chanting ‘baba’, a nickname for Raila.

According to lawyer Dan Maanzo, the Raila Odinga petition supreme court 2022 case was filed online and the next step was to deliver the physical documents. He claimed that Azimio lawyers are now ready for the battle ahead.

“Yes we have filed the petition online and as lawyers of Azimio we are ready for the petition and we are very confident that we will succeed because the law is on our side,” Maanzo said outside Milimani courts.

“The hard copies will now be brought so that they can be stamped but the online one is already with the court.” He added.

Martha Karua on the other hand claimed to be confident of the victory during a church service they attended in Nairobi.
