Prof. Joy Ngozi Ezeilo is a scholar, lawyer, activist and feminist. She earned an LLM from Queen Mary College, University of London. She is a senior lecturer of law at University of Nigeria, Enugu Campus. She was trained at the International Institute of Human Rights as well as the International Centre for Teaching of Human Rights in Strasbourg, France.
Professor Joy Ngozi Ezeilo earned a diploma in peace studies and conflict resolution and another diploma in gender studies from CODESRIA, Dakar and Uppsala University, Sweden.
In June 2008, Professor Joy Ngozi Ezeilo was appointed the UN Special Rapporteur on Trafficking in Persons especially women and children. She held the office from Aug 2008 to 2011.
