Prince Harry has resigned as the patron of Sentebale a charity which he co-founded with Prince Seeiso of Lesotho. The charity has a mission to help children and young people in Lesotho and B0tswana especially those with HIV and Aids.
The charity was established in honor of Princess Diana of England and Wales. The relationship between Sentebale chair Sophie Chandauka and Prince Harry has broken beyond repair.
It is not clear what was the cause of the rift between the two but Sophie Chandauka said that she was being targeted after she raised serious concerns about the charity.
“With heavy hearts, we have resigned from our roles as patrons of the organization until further notice, in support of and solidarity with the board of trustees who have had to do the same,” Harry and Prince Seeiso said in a statement.
“It is devastating that the relationship between the charity’s trustees and the chair of the board broke down beyond repair, creating an untenable situation.”
Sophie Chandauka said that she had reported trustees to Charity Commission Regulator in the United Kingdom and even filed a case in High Court in London.
She was complaining of poor governance, abuse of power, harassment, bullying and misogyny among others.
