President Lazarus Chakwera spoke fluent Swahili during his speech at Wanguru Stadium.
Every 20 October is celebrated as the Mashujaa Day in Kenya. This year’s celebrations is being held at Wanguru Stadium in Kirinyaga County.
There are seven African President who speak Swahili. Paul Kagame (Rwanda), Kaguta Museveni (Uganda), former president Joseph Kabila (DRC), late Pierre Nkurunziza (Burundi), Filipe Nyusi (Mozambique), Joyce Banda (Malawi) and Sahle Sahle (Ethiopia).
Swahili is spoken by at least 100 million people in East Africa.
