The Kenya’s President-elect william Ruto in his speech after he was handed in the presidential certificate by the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) chairman Wafula Chebukati, claimed to owe Kenyans and all his supporters.
He also thanked those who included him in prayers and the ones who employed their resources and commitment towards his success.
President-elect William Ruto and his Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua resumed power after the 10 year rule of former President Uhuru Kenyatta. Ruto was together with family when he was awarded the Presidential certificate.
Outside of the Bomas of Kenya were four IEBC commissioners who were not in line with the presidential results. They addressed a press conference claiming that the results had rigged.
“We have conducted the 2022 General Election in the most effective and efficient manner. We have ensured that we have improved the standards and consistently communicated what is happening. We have partnered with all stakeholders and we say it for a fact that as a commission we have done a good job but some things need to be put out there,” Cherera, one of the commissioners said.
The other three commissioners include; Irene Masit, Justus Nyang’anya, Francis Wanderi.
