Premier League clubs have unanimously agreed to resume contact training as they prepare for the season to resume.

Earlier this week, the UK government gave teams the green light to resume contact and competitive training.

The decision was agreed following consultation with clubs, players, managers, the Professional Football Association (PFA) and the League managers association (LMA).

Players will now train in groups and tackle each other while minimising unnecessary close contact.

So far 8 individuals have tested positive for coronavirus after two rounds of testing at the 20 Premier League clubs.

All Premier League players will be required to maintain social distance when not taking part in competitive training.

The Premier League was suspended in mid-March due to the global coronavirus pandemic.

Most clubs are remaining with 9 rounds of matches to complete the season.

Liverpool are 25 points clear at the top of the Premier League table. They’re closing in on a Premier League title for the first time since 1990.
