Approximately, over 50,000 people attended the funeral of Pope Emeritus Benedict XVI which happened at St. Peter’s Square.
Before he became Pope Benedict XVI, his name was Joseph Ratzinger from Bavaria, Germany.
The Catholic Church announced that Pope Benedict XVI was buried at the Vatican Grottoes. Pope Benedict XVI is joining 150 former Popes who are buried in that place.
