The JKUAT students were protesting over security concerns around the institution. They engaged the police in running battles before the police cornered Allan.
In the video clip that has gone viral, the four policemen are seen kicking the student on the head and also hit various parts of his body. Reports show that Allan was arrested and released later in the evening alongside the other arrested students.
CS Fred Mating’i condemned the incident and had earlier ordered for an action to be taken on the four policemen within a day.
Human rights organizations have condemned the incident and the Independent Policing Oversight Authority has launched investigations into the matter.
