An excess of half a million people from Catalan have been engaged in protests in Barcelona against heavy sentences handed to their leaders for agitating for self-determination.
Over 300 people have been arrested and detained, 171 motor vehicles have been damaged and more than 200 police officers have been injured during the protests.
The Spanish government is advocating for co-existence while a section of Catalans are pro-independence.
