The Nigerian police in Kaduna State have confirmed arrested of a serving councilor of Kinkiba ward, Abdulrahma Adamu, for arms trafficking operation.
The Councilor was found with AK-47 rifle loaded with six rounds of live ammunition. The spokesperson of the state police, ASP Mohamed Jalige, said:
”The operatives of Operation Puff Adder II while acting on the instruction of the Commissioner of Police Yekini A Ayoku had on the 9th May 2022 at about 0800 hours conducted routine patrol along Galadimawa road Giwa LGA of Kaduna State.
The operatives successfully intercepted Abdulrahman Adamu as he rode his motorcycle carrying a sack which attracted the attention of the police. They ordered a search. They discovered that the sack was hiding an AK47 rifle loaded with six rounds of ammunition.
The suspect of arms trafficking is a current member of the legislative council of Soba LGA in Kaduna State, Nigeria. He represents Kinkiba ward. The suspect confessed that he was delivering the firearm to bandits around Galadimawa village for criminal use.
