Pharmaceutical company exposed for bribing doctors to boost sales
Two whistle blowers at a pharmaceutical company have come out and exposed a pharmaceutical company for bribing doctors to boost their sales. This is according to documents filed at the federal court in the United States.
This bribery is part and parcel of a multi-pronged strategy by Questcor Pharmaceuticals to increase the sales of Acthar Gel.
The drug named above is used for treating infant seizure disorder which is rare according to reports by CNN. The price of this drug has increased 97,000% from $40 a vial back in 2000 to approximately $39,000 currently.

Questcor was purchased by Mallinchrodt in 2014 as part and parcel of $5.6 billion deal. The company’s fraud which started in 2007 continued even after the company was acquired.
